How to Get Updates

There are several ways to find out about the latest updates to the website (which is to say, the latest changes in the Catholic Hierarchy).


Shortcuts on the Site Itself

The website has two very handy shortcuts that take you to the most current updates. Please note: you need to use the link below as the shortcut - not the page it takes you to. (This is often done by right clicking on the link and then selecting the appropriate option from the menu.)

The ListServes

Country1 and Country2
Howdy,

   + Retired, Bishop: retired bishop's name
   + Named, Bishop: new bishop's name

* Diocese2, Country2
   + Retired, Archbishop: retired archbishop's name
   + Named, Archbishop: new archbishop's name

These services will deliver an email - normally one each day there is a change.

The content looks something like the box on the right.

There are no links to the website in the email.

The service hosting the listserv may add some additional advertisements, etc. at the end of the message.

The content of the two listserves is identical and are issued at roughly the same time.

The Blog

Bishop1 retired, Bishop2 named Diocese1 Bishop

Bishop bishop1's name retired and Bishop bishop2's name was named Bishop of diocese1, country1.

Bishop bishop2's lastname had been serving as Bishop of diocese2.

The blog has one entry for each change. (As in the example, that may include 2 events.)

The content looks something like the box on the right.

The names of bishops and dioceses are links to the appropriate pages on the website.

The service delivering the emails may add some additional advertisements, etc. at the end of the message.

Your email address will never be used for any other purpose.
